    Khaled Mattawa was born in Benghazi, Libya, in and immigrated to the U.S. in his teens. He is the author of four books books of poetry, ISMAILIA ECLIPSE (Sheep Meadow Press, ), ZODIAC OF ECHOES (Ausable Press, ), Amorisco (Ausable Press, ), and TOCQUEVILLE (New Issues Poetry & Prose, ). Born in Benghazi, Libya, Mattawa moved to the U.S. as a teenager. He holds an MFA from Indiana University and a PhD from Duke University. His poetry collections include Tocqueville (), Amorisco (), Zodiac of Echoes (), and Ismailia Eclipse (). He has also translated numerous volumes of contemporary Arabic poetry, including Shepherd of Solitude: .
